Community Health Assessment

The Healthy Macomb Advisory Committee is including perspectives from those who live, work and play in Macomb County.

In January 2020, the Macomb County Health Department brought together a diverse set of community partners and launched the second Community Health Assessment (CHA).  This collaborative partnership was named Healthy Macomb and was directed by the Healthy Macomb Advisory Committee (HMAC) to capture the changing needs and concerns of the community. The COVID-19 pandemic halted assessment activities in the spring of 2020. In the spring of 2022, Healthy Macomb restarted the assessment process with the publication of a community survey and began asking those who live, work, or play in Macomb County two key questions: “What would make you healthier?” and “What is stopping you from getting it?”  Responses and data from the assessment process were reviewed by the HMAC to identify common themes, priorities and strategies to improve the health and well-being of community members.

The HMAC met in June, October and November 2023 to finalize the 2023 Community Health Assessment (CHA) and 2024-2028 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). The 2023 CHA report and 2024-2028 CHIP are linked below. Additional reports are available on the Resources page.
